John graduated from New Rochelle High School in 2013 where he was a four-year letter winner for the Huguenots.
He then went on to attend St. John’s University where he became the first student athlete in St. John’s baseball history to be named the Big East Player of the year. Amongst many accolades at St. John’s, John was selected to the ALL Big East first team 2 years in a row along with 2 ABCA/Rawlings ALL Northeast Region team selections, 2 ALL Clemson regional team selections and chosen as a senior class award second team ALL American. He finished his career at St. John’s with a combined .353 average to go along with 218 career hits, which is the 13th most in the school’s history.
Following his St. John’s career, John was chosen in the 2018 MLB first year player draft. The 21st round selection finished his first MILB season hitting at a .349 clip through the GCL Tigers (rookie-ball), West Michigan whitecaps (long season A) and the Lakeland Flying Tigers (advanced A).
